Contractual Consultancy
Technical matters are part of all contracts relating to a PV system. We identify these technical matters and provide advice for respective treatment such as identifying potential risks or unambiguous and clear wording for the contracts. In particular, time deadlines and the quality of technical performance are very important: preconditions for disbursement / building progress, readiness for acceptance, warranty and guarantee periods.
Weather Station
Performance guarantees or performance ration (PR) agreements usually describe the performance characteristics of a system. These characteristics are proven by the technical operations manager every year. To this respect, the energy yield is related to the actual irradiation and expected yield (yield report). However, this does not involve an independent measurement of irradiation or module temperature.
Supported by our self-sustaining weather station, we are able to provide this independent control. Our weather station measures redundantly and for several directions any irradiation and records at least the ambient and module temperatures. We provide the station for checking the system sensors either for a limited period of time or for permanent measurement.
Operational Data Analysis
Operational data resulting from the solar plant’s monitoring system are virtually the beating heart of the plant. Therefore, we carry out extensive investigations and comparisons with operational data of various data protocols with the help of our software SOLMAN - especially developed for the intensive investigation of operational data. SOLMAN is based on the requirements for drive train analysis of large wind turbines (CMS) which are considerably more complex. The respective program VIBRALYZE also originates from our company and is meanwhile certified and is working very successfully.
Depending on data availability (see Due Diligence / Contracts / Contract Services) we determine the performance of module fields of different sizes. Thus, we can determine reliably and clearly differences in performance, malfunctions as well as changes in performance / degradation. In this way, warranty claims can be identified and proven in good time.
Performance Calculation
The performance of a solar plant depends on various technical factors as well as contractual agreements. Availability and measurement data are just as important as the contractually defined assessment criteria.
We calculate and assess the performance of your solar plant independently of economic interests and in comparison with the expected values.
Determination of Module Quality
We organize the testing of your solar modules in recognised and independent laboratories and provide a specific quality assessment and recommendation for action.
Performance Measurement
Usually, factory installed measuring devices for power measurement (string current measurement, inverter input and output measurement) have large tolerances. This is regularly shown by implausible data for energy measurements compared to the calibrated feed-in counter. Thus, it is not possible to determine the efficiency, for example, if there is a suspected reduced performance.
With high-precision mobile measuring instruments and multi-channel measurements, we carry out exact efficiency determinations and suggest if necessary potential improvements. In addition, we offer specific support for increasing performance or refurbishment of the entire solar park.
